Nope. I have the exact same device already rooted and over-clocked at 1.3 Ghz. I’ve use this exact same method to root mine. Just make certain you’re on the 10e firmware. Anything less than that expect to use as a “Gorilla Glass” coaster.

Yea there isn’t really any development on this device. If anyone knows of someone willing to develop for it (4.2 PLEAASE) I’ll gladly make a system dump for it.

If you do a little bit of a research, it will be pretty clear to you that custom update roms wont show up before official update*or leak update*, specifically for MID RANGE PHONES.

If you are expecting official update to show up soon, IN MY OPINION, it will at-the-least take 6 months from release date for LG to release official update.

Since root is available, a recovery will be available soon, which raise “4.0.x” custom roms, which, mayhaps, will be like jelly bean, but not exact jelly bean.

*and seriously, if you are upto “NO >( I TRUST DEVELOPERS MORE THAN YOU” xD huhhhhh…

I have a rooted LG optimus L9. I believe the firmware update to Jellybean is now available and my phone has been trying to update, but it fails everytime (I see the screen of the android lying down with a red exclamation mark). Have any rooted users been able to update successfully?

I have the same problem, haven’t found a solution yet and the system update popup is very annoying.

The tmobile version of the LG L9 is the P769 variant not the P760. its the only variant that has NOT received jellybean yet and still has a locked bootloader so even if you do unlock it you cant flash any new roms to this phone

this guide needs to get its facts straight
