How to Install the Android apps on your phone manually by File Manager

Normally all the apps has been installed with the use of Google Play store app. You can browse and install the apps through Google Play Store. Some people download the Android apk’s and need to install it manually. And some people download the apk from third party apk downloading sites directly to the phone. Here is a guide to manually install the apk files on your Android phone.

By this method you can install android apkl apps without Google Play Store App (Android Market). Many people already knows how to do it. But, some users were not able to do it correctly. They are beginners of Android phone. We have clearly described how to do it in the following tutorial by any file manager, we used Astro File Manager for the guide.

How to Install Android Apk on your phone manually:

Download Astro File Manager from Google Play Store – Here
You can use any other file manager too.
Download the apk files to your computer and move it to the Memory card of the phone.
You can also download directly from the phone.
Now you have to enable unknown source option to install this kind of apps.For that, go to Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources Check it.
For Android 4.0+ users you have to do Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
Now open the Astro File Manager, and Navigate the file that you are going to install.
Just tap the apk file, it will ask you to confirm that install it or not. Click install button. And it will install the app on your phone.

How to Enable USB Debugging & Developer Options in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The USB Debugging and Developer Options are hidden in latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. If we want to use that options, manually activate it. Google has rolled out latest Jelly Bean OTA update for their nexus mobiles. After the updating process, the developer option is not there in settings. Here is the guide to enable USB debugging on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running mobiles and tablets.

Developer Options have many features for app developer to test an app on their device from PC via ADB. After enabling the debugging mode only, access the mobile from PC. ADB is used for users if they want to quickly access and run commands on their device from their PC or Laptop. In gingerbread it is placed in Settings> Applications > Development > USB Debugging. And ICS it is placed in Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging. But, after upgrading it to 4.2 it is missing. After a long time to search around, we found the way how to activate it.

How to Enable USB Debugging and Developer Options on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean:

Go to – Settings > About phone.
Then move on to Build number option
Tap on Build number repeatedly about 7 times.
This is enough.
After touching 7th time you will see a message that, “you are now a developer”.

Now the option will be placed in Settings menu. Normally it placed under System in Settings menu. Then you can enable it in Developer Options and Android Debugging.

Extract the rar file in your PC or Laptop.

This guide is for Google Chrome only. APK downloader also help you to download the applications from Google Play store without login in your gmail account.

How to download Android Apps to PC from Google Play Store:

Download the APK Downloader Google Chrome Extension – Here
Then go to APK Options to setup Email, password and Device ID.

You will see an error “You must disable SSL error warnings in able to use this extension“.
To solve this, Right click on Google Chrome shortcut select “Properties“

In “Target” field enter the text after the “chrome.exe”.
chrome.exe --ignore-certificate-errors –allow-running-insecure-content
Then click “OK“
After that, you need to find your Android mobile or Tablet’s Device ID.

Android Devices are rolled out widely in the world. In Android devices there is no easy option to set a custom or own notification ringtone. But, we can make a custom notification ringtone manually. Here is a Guide to set a own custom notification ringtone.

How to Set Own Custom Notification Ringtone in Android:

First thing is, you need to create a folder in Memory SD card. So, you can use Astro,ES File Manager or any other for this process.
Open any File manager go to the SD card, and create new folder named as “media“(without quotes).
And open the media folder, and create another new folder named as “audio“.
Then open the audio folder and again create 2 new folders. One is “notifications” and another one is “ringtones“.
It must be in this path- SDcard> media> audio> notifications

After the above process move the tone that you want to set as notification ringtone to the notifications folder.
You can also use the ringtones folder to set the ringtones.
After that, go to Settings> Sound> Notification Ringtone.
Now you can see the custom tone that you moved earlier to the notifications folder.

If the moved tone is not there, then restart your phone. Then check the ringtones settings. The file will be there and just select it click ok.
